Controversies & Protests regarding the ban of hijab in colleges
A very popular saying is that one thing leads to another, what's required is just a small push. In December a government girls college in Udupi did not allow 6 girls to enter the college because they were wearing hijab. The college officials closed the gate while they tried to enter the college premises and asked them to remove their hijabs. The intention behind the authorities taking such an action was to avoid discrimination on college premises and to avoid following any culture and traditions inside the school but the question here is if you are trying to avoid discrimination then why not ask Punjabis to remove their turban, why not ask Hindus to stop wearing bindis, and tika to college. Every individual has the right to follow their traditions and culture, if someone is not comfortable removing their hijabs or turban they shouldn't be forced to do so.
