A mentally unstable man Pushed Michelle Alyssa, a 40yr old woman in front of the subway train to death
Mental health is the foundation for emotions, thinking, communication, and building relationships. If mentally an individual is not stable then it not only affects the family of an individual but also the society.
Many people with mental illness do not want to talk about it, and it’s not something to be ashamed of. Anyone can suffer from it regardless of their age and it is treatable like any other illness.
Because people do not take it seriously, there are many crimes involving mentally unstable criminals. It is hard for an individual to handle the emotions and thoughts running in the mind in case of mental illness which leads to some horrible incidents.
One such incident took place because of mental illness in New York City on Saturday. A 60yr old man named Simon Martial with a history of mental illness shoved a 40yr old woman named Michelle Alyssa Go in front of the subway train in Times square after he thought that she stole his jacket leading to the death of the woman.
Simon claimed that he is God and he can do anything he wants. He has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. NYPD commissioner keechant Sewell mentioned that the attack was unprovoked and the victim did not have any kind of interaction with Simon.
Simon had been under medication for over 20yrs because of his mental illness and also had a criminal record. Such individuals shouldn’t be allowed to roam freely on the roads as this could be very dangerous for the people around.
Michelle Alyssa lost her life most unexpectedly and horribly, without any fault. She was a loving person and was liked by all in her neighborhood. Even though the subject is mentally ill, Michelle did not deserve this and so Simon shouldn’t be allowed to roam free. Clearly, he is violent and needs serious attention in a mental care institution. This step is very much required for his own safety and for the people around him.
